The OPN III
|
The Orcutt Police Nunchaku (OPN III)
is a certified training system developed by Sergeant Kevin Orcutt,
master instructor and designer of the Orcutt Police Nunchaku,
as a non-lethal controlling device for law enforcement and corrections.
The OPN program stresses CONTROL vs IMPACT. Since
1985, over 200 law enforcement agencies across the United States have
field tested and adopted the OPN as their primary control device. Contact us for additional information.
- Taser:
The OPN provides effective physical control tactics. When implemented in conjunction with the Taser, the OPN reduces the need for extra or possibly excessive cycles, reducing risk and liability.
- Bloodborne Pathogens:
The OPN reduces exposure to bloodborne pathogens by preventing direct contact with the subject during the arrest, control process.
- Mobility:
The OPN is compact and light-weight and can be carried without
interference during a variety of activities, including sitting,
running, climbing and jumping.
- Low Profile Appearance:
The OPN in its leather/nylon carrying case blends into the equipment worn by the officer and is not offensive in appearance.
- Accessibility:
The OPN can be carried comfortably at all times and is within easy reach on the duty belt.
- Versatility:
The OPN can be used both as a restraining device and as a defensive instrument to block and control kicks and punches.
- Non-Lethal:
The OPN offers a powerful means of control and restraint through leverage, reducing the need for strength.
- Ease of Use:
The OPN certified training course promotes simple
techniques to effectively use the OPN as a defensive instrument and
controlling device.
- Control:
Due to the natural moves in the use of the OPN in
close quarters there is no problem in quickly gaining control in the
corrections setting.
